CURRENT PROJECT

Bluegrass Barn

Initially conceived as a practical solution for storing a Sprinter van and property maintenance equipment, the project evolved far beyond its utilitarian roots to embody the essence of the Bluegrass Barn. This whimsical structure not only fulfills its functional roles but also cultivates a vibrant hub for music and community.

The Bluegrass Barn exemplifies adaptability in design, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. Accordion doors effortlessly connect the compact interior to a flush exterior deck, expanding the living area during the summer months and integrating with the natural surroundings. Carefully designed wood decks ensure a smooth transition between inside and outside, complemented by retractable screens that enhance comfort during Vermont’s insect seasons. Beyond its private retreat function, the Bluegrass Barn becomes a focal point for community engagement, hosting gatherings where bluegrass music resonates, bringing neighbors and friends together. Fundraising events flourish here, celebrating nature and music in harmony.

Craftsmanship is evident in every detail of this sanctuary. Thoughtfully concealed storage within kitchen cabinets maximizes countertop space, while a meticulously crafted Murphy bed and couch seamlessly transform the living areas, optimizing space efficiency without expanding square footage. In essence, the Bluegrass Barn stands as a testament to thoughtful design, where practicality meets creativity, fostering connections and enriching the fabric of community life.
